1. I’m embarrassed to let someone else see my mess.
Beleive it or not, we will be better able to diagnose problems and create solutions for you if we can see the entire reality of your situation. Even so, many people feel embarrassed or hesitant to let someone see their “mess” And it’s certainly understandable for you to feel a little uncomfortable.
Remember that no one will be judging you. Most of us have at least some aspect of our lives that could be better organized. Also remember that your confidentiality agreement is in place to ensure that absolutely no aspect of our work together will be shared with any other person and your privacy will always be respected. Rest assured that whatever initial embarrassment you feel will dissipate as you begin to clear away the clutter and regain control of your life. Once you get organized you will feel nothing but happy and relieved!
2. How will a Professional Organizer help me get organized?
A Professional Organizer will focus on several key aspects of the organization process: She will find a clear and logical place for items in your home or office; She will work to illuminate your personal patterns of disorganization, accumulation, and emotional attachment to certain items; She will help you to determine what is truly essential for you to have in your home, office and life; She will coach you to prioritize and organize your time in a way that helps you to get the most done with least effort. Once you have organized your possessions and your tasks, you will naturally experience the many benefits of being better organized.
Chaos 2 Calm begins this process by scheduling an initial phone or in home consultation to assess your situation and evaluate your needs. Then we will work with you in a combination of hands-on organizing sessions and “homework” assigned between sessions until you reach your goals!
3. How do I choose a Professional Organizer?
The most important factor in selecting a Professional Organizer is the level of comfort that you feel with that person. You will be sharing personal items and information with your organizer and you will want to feel that you can trust them with that information. You must know that all of the information that you share – and clutter she sees – will be kept strictly confidential. Any Professional Organizer should provide you with a copy of their confidentiality agreement prior to commencement of your work together. You should also refer to the National Association of Professional Organizers website at www.NAPO.net to determine whether the organizer you select is a registered member. Being a NAPO member ensures that the Professional Organizer has agreed to adhere to an industry code of conduct, and that the core knowledge of the profession is understood by that organizer.
4. How is Chaos 2 Calm different from other Professional Organizers?

5. How much will it cost to get organized?
Similar to other consultants, each Professional Organizer has her own individual fee structure. Some charge by the hour; others charge by the project. Fees are determined by a variety of factors including experience level, geographic location, and types of organization specialized in.
Chaos 2 Calm charges a per hour fee, allowing clients to maintain complete control over their budgets. The hourly fee structure lets clients maintain flexibility in deciding how much organizing they can manage on their own, versus how much time should be spent one-on-one with the Professional Organizer. Once the organization project is completed, many clients choose to have periodic “tune-ups” to help them stay on track. However, our goal is to teach you the skills necessary to maintain organization systems and strategies easily and on your own.
6.Why do I need Professional help to get organized?
Don�t think of being disorganized as a having a fault; think of getting organized as gaining a skill! Most of us have a natural sense of order. However, learning how to live a truly organized lifestyle is a skill that must be learned. A Professional Organizer is an expert who can teach you how to control your clutter, plan your space, manage your time and simplify your life. Just as we hire other professionals to assist us in various aspects of our lives, having a Professional Organizer is quickly becoming as commonplace as having a decorator to help decorate your home or a personal trainer to help get into shape.
7. How long will it take to get organized?
The amount of time your organization project will take depends on your personal situation, and is determined by a variety of factors including: The number and size of the areas and objects that you need to be organized The nature of personal habits and challenges that need to be addressed How much time you are able to set aside to work on organizing How quickly or slowly you sort through your items How much organizing you complete with your Professional Organizer and how much you complete on your own. These factors are very specific to the individual and will be discussed during the initial consultation with Chaos 2 Calm.
8. Do I have to throw away all of my stuff?
No. We will help you to determine what to keep and what to pass on. Chaos 2 Calm will provide perspective on organizational strategies, reassurance, and encouragement to make positive changes. However, the decision is ultimately yours when it comes to what you keep.
9. Can I recycle or donate the items I do not want?
Absolutely! Chaos 2 Calm strongly encourages clients to recycle materials and to donate usable items to organizations and charities that would greatly appreciate their generosity. We have an extensive database of charitable organizations that welcome donations of every kind, from hotel travel soaps to automobiles! It becomes much easier to let go of things when you know that someone else will benefit from them. You will feel a sense of satisfaction when helping those in need, and receive a tax write-off for your donations.
